Chris is the founding Director of professional services retained advisors and thought leaders Kingsmead Square, advising on strategy, operations, transformation and delivering their business plans. He has a number of retained and NED roles in the sector and is KPMG’s ambassador for the professional practices market. He has been a leading pioneer in professional firm business management for over 20 years and has experience in legal, accounting, consulting, financial services and outsourced services organisations.
Chris has been an advisor, advocate and architect of a range of new legal business models. He has advised on strategic transformation programmes, agile working, process improvement, outsourcing and shared service strategies and the creation of a string of new entrant Alternative Business Structures (ABS) in the UK market. His appointment as Chief Executive of UK lawyers Osborne Clarke in 2000 was in the first wave of business professionals in law firm leadership roles. In his subsequent global management role at professional service outsourcing firm Integreon, he was one of the architects of their rise to market leadership in legal outsourcing. As a member international boutique strategy consultancies, Edge International, he worked with clients in the UK, US and Europe. Chris has also worked at leading consulting and accounting firms (PriceWaterhouse and Ernst & Young) and in Financial Services (NatWest Insurance Services).
One of the busiest speakers and writers on law firm management, Chris is a regular keynote presenter, Conference Chair and panellist at conferences in Europe as well as the USA. He has been a guest tutor on a legal MBA programme and a member of conference advisory boards. He has authored ‘Law Firms in the Digital Age’ (2013) and ‘The Legal Process Improvement Toolkit’ (2012), published by Managing Partner/Ark, as well as a series of Best Practice Guides during 2014-16 for the largest international law firm network, Lex Mundi.
