General Counsel and Company Secretary
Matthew Redding is GC and Company Secretary of Six Degrees, a communications, cloud computing and security business based in London that provides a wide range of IT, connectivity and data services for mid-market and enterprise businesses. He is ex-Lovells, was previously Legal Director for Technology at BT and before that led a large team as Legal Director for EE’s corporate, data, technology and B2B divisions.
A keen advocate of lawyers taking on a fuller role and giving risk balanced, ethically and commercially sound, and strategically relevant advice, Matthew has recently been involved in all aspects of refreshing and resetting risk frameworks at working, risk committee, board and shareholder levels.
Matthew’s proudest work achievement remains his work conceiving and campaigning for reform of the Digital Economy Act from 2011 to 2019, which is resulting in material advances for communications infrastructure in the UK.
