The Disruptive GCs: VentureFounders’ Vanessa Cowling

VentureFounders is one of a new breed of venture capital companies using crowdfunding to allow large numbers of small investors to finance innovative start-up companies.

Vanessa joined the VentureFounders team to be a part of bringing carefully curated deals to a wider audience and supporting the next-generation of British entrepreneurs. As General Counsel, Vanessa is responsible for running VentureFounders’ legal, compliance and governance matters, advising the VentureFounders board and managing the company’s relationship with regulators. Prior to joining VentureFounders, Vanessa worked at Canada Life, Dechert LLP and Clifford Chance LLP.

At the 2017 Alternative In-House Technology Summit, Vanessa spoke about : Working with panel firms to ensure that your systems and their systems add up to more than the sum of their parts (start-up perspective); What are the options for working with private practice?
